Curriculum – Phase III

Phase III Capstone Project Description

The Capstone for the Certificate Program is a research project germane to Election Administration, Technology, and/or security. The product will be a research paper. Program participants will be required to complete an approved project that will be useful in their profession and will be mentored by Program faculty and staff throughout.

Each participant will select a project in consultation with one or more faculty members (supervising faculty) of the Certificate Program. Participants will be encouraged to select a project topic in a relevant area of their interest.  Each participant will prepare a Capstone Project Proposal that will include description of the topic, a set of goals to be achieved, methodology for carrying out the Project and a description of the product of the completed project. The Capstone Project Proposal must be approved by the supervising faculty and by at least one of the co-Directors of the Certificate Program before a participant commences Project work.  The final Product must be acceptable to the supervising faculty and be approved by at least one of the co-Directors of the Certificate Program.
