Kathryn S. Gardiner has been teaching at Ball State since 2015. She earned her MFA in Screenwriting at Hollins University and worked for many years at the Herald Times in Bloomington, IN as a special projects coordinator. In the English department, she teaches screenwriting and Compass Creative. As the Assistant Director of Compass, she oversees our team of student project managers and the communications work in member departments. As a writer, she specializes in feature-length scripts. Her screenplays The Art of Yielding and The Regiment both advanced to the second round of the 2017 Austin Film Festival and Screenwriting Contest. The Art of Yielding was also a semi-finalist in The Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting..
