Voluntary audit finds 99% confidence level in St. Joseph County’s November election results

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) – St. Joseph County’s first-ever post-election audit resulted in the highest attainable confidence rating.
According to the St. Joseph County’s Clerks Office, the audit concluded with 99% confidence that the election systems used in St. Joseph County functioned properly and resulted in correctly tabulated and reported election outcomes.
Back in December, a team of independent auditors did some sophisticated sampling of the 112,000 ballots cast in November’s general election. It’s part of the Voting System Technical Oversight Program (VSTOP) funded through Indiana Secretary of State.
The audit was voluntary. It was not the result of any suspected or reported problems.
