We now have unofficial results of a post-election audit in St. Joseph County. The county clerk’s office says the three races that were audited came back at a 99% confidence level. This was after the county volunteered for this closer state look to show transparency in the election process. It involves recounting random ballots in a set sample size and comparing that data to the election results. We spoke with Amy Rolfes, St. Joseph County Circuit Court Clerk.
“What happens is that random ballot is chosen, a clerk runner will take up to three different auditors. The first one is auditing our corners race. The next one is auditing our probate judge race last Audited is the judicial retention,” says Rofles.
The official results of this audit are expected to be available later next month.
