The student design build team is working diligently on the kitchen cabinetry to finish by the instillation date. David Calvin, a woodworker and cabinet maker has been working with us on the kitchen cabinetry for the Alley House and will continue to work with us on the built-ins for the flexible work/play space on the second level and the gathering space media center built-in on the first floor! We are excited to have a furniture making course taught by Bruce Lowenthal who is also joining us in the Alley House build. Duncan Reed is the student Design Build Lead as David Calvin (and Pam) outlined the tasks to be completed for the early February install date in the Alley House.

Students have been busy sanding door and drawer faces, installing hinges and shelf brackets using a jig made to align holes, and will be cutting final shelves and preparing for attaching the drawer pulls this week. The students in this elective class will make signature lighting fixtures, tables, chairs, the stair screen, coat rack hangars, etc. as part of the Alley House.
