Child getting a close look at an Eastern Box Turtle

The BSU FSEEC provides hands-on learning opportunities for students of all ages. Our center is a collaboration between the Departments of BiologyLandscape Architecture, Environment, Geology, and Natural Resources, and others. The FSEEC is comprised of six properties totaling 425 acres. Several properties are located in Muncie, and others are distributed throughout Delaware County.

During the 2018 – 2019 fiscal year, the Field Station served over 10,000 scheduled visitors, over 3,000 of which were PreK – 12th-grade students. Most of our school groups joined us on campus at Christy Woods or the Rinard Orchid Greenhouse. In addition, a growing percentage of our programs occur at local schools and community centers, to better meet the needs of our audience.
