Research in the Health and Environmental Design Research lab

Research projects in the Health and Environmental Design Research (HEDR) lab focus on three environmental factors:  lighting, acoustics, and color. Additionally, many of our research projects focus on children and youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Observations record behavioral responses to the environment such as repetitive speech or motor movements and autonomic responses such as heart rate. Observations range from less than one hour to several hours. Some research projects require more than one observation. Various equipment is used to measure behavior and physical responses.
