Is your child’s environment helping them thrive?

Our research focuses on how elements like acoustics, lighting, and color influence children and youth, particularly those with autism. By exploring these effects, the lab develops a tailored interior design solution to support your child’s unique needs.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR VISIT:

  • We test acoustics, lighting, and color to access which environmental factors benefit the child the most
  • A parent or guardian will accompany their child into a room where the lighting and sound will be adjusted
  • Testing lasts 60-90 minutes

PARTICIPANTS:

  • Children, ages 2-14 years old, diagnosed with level one autism
  • Parents receive a $40 gift card
  • Children receive a book or a toy

BY THE END OF THE STUDY:

  • Parents will be given a behavioral assessment of their child
  • Parents will be given the best acoustics, lighting, and color selections for their child’s environment
