Eligibility
- Manuscripts by BSU students (current or graduated) will be accepted if the work was completed as an undergraduate.
- We review three types of submissions: (See “Formatting” section below for more information about each type of submission.)
- Research papers (i.e., Projects that included data collection and analyses, such as those written for PSYS 284, PSYS 492, PSYS 499, supervised research projects, independent study projects, etc.)
- Brief reports (i.e., Similar to research papers but shorter in length)
- Review papers (i.e., Papers that provide a critical analysis of an important topic within psychology)
- Articles that have been previously published in any academic publication will not be accepted. By submitting a study to Psyche, the author is in agreement that their material is not currently under review at another journal. Research that has been shared at a conference is permissible, however.
- Manuscripts accepted for publication in Psyche are still eligible to be published elsewhere in the future.
- Authors are not required to be psychology majors, but the research must be related to the field of psychology

Formatting
- Submissions should be formatted as Microsoft Word documents (.docx) and according to the guidelines of the most recent edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.
- Manuscripts should be double-spaced in 12 pt. Times New Roman font with 1-inch margins.
- All manuscripts must include the following sections:
- Title Page: This includes the title of your manuscript, the author names, the author affiliations (e.g., your university), the public contact information for each author, and an Acknowledgements section if desired. The title page should be submitted as a separate attachment to ensure a blind review.
- Acknowledgements: Thank the individuals who provided help during the research (e.g., help with collecting data, data analyses, writing, etc.)
- Abstract (250 words maximum): A brief, comprehensive summary of the contents of the article. This should be one single-spaced paragraph. Because the title page will be submitted separately, the abstract should constitute the first page of the article.
- Keywords: Beneath the abstract, list up to five words or short phrases that are central and specific to your research. These words may be taken from both the title and the text. We will use these keywords to facilitate the retrieval of your paper from abstracting and indexing databases.
