Mission Statement of the Teachers College Sustainability Committee
The Teachers College Sustainability Committee is dedicated to fostering a culture of sustainability that empowers students, faculty, staff, and the broader community to become informed and active stewards of a just and sustainable future.
As a committee, we aim to:
- Promote sustainability literacy through interdisciplinary learning, creative projects, and meaningful campus and community collaborations.
- Serve as a bridge between the college and the broader community, sharing resources, research, and innovative solutions to advance sustainability efforts locally and globally.
- Review and support departments in developing and implementing sustainable practices, offering guidance on policies that promote environmental, social, and economic responsibility.
Together, we strive to build a vibrant, resilient, and forward-thinking Teachers College that empowers educators to champion sustainability in their classrooms, schools, and communities.
