2025 Indiana Civic Health Index – Regional Discussion
Wednesday, March 11 · 12:00–1:00 PM · Student Center Room 303 · Lunch provided
Earlier this year, the 2025 Indiana Civic Health Index was introduced at the Statehouse. This regional follow-up conversation will explore what the new findings mean for our communities. In partnership with the Indiana Bar Foundation, we will discuss trends in voting, civic participation, and social connectedness—and what the data suggest for strengthening civic life across Indiana.
Tuesday, April 14, 2026 · 7:00–8:30 PM · Hospitality Suite, Emens Auditorium · Free & open to the public
Emily Esfahani Smith, bestselling author of The Power of Meaning, will join us for a campus conversation on belonging, purpose, and what makes life meaningful. Drawing from psychology, philosophy, and global research, she explores why the pursuit of happiness alone often leaves people anxious and disconnected—and how cultivating meaning strengthens well-being, relationships, and civic life.
Over the past month, CREATE250 has expanded recruitment for Indiana’s statewide Community of Practice—beginning with schools in the Muncie region and extending outreach to Indianapolis and beyond. The goal is a connected network of educators preparing together for the Summer Civic Learning Academy and the 2026–27 school year.
CECL is also strengthening implementation capacity by hiring a full-time lead director and confirming a cohort of Mentor Teachers. Mentor Teachers will help finalize Academy materials this spring and support new participants during the Summer Academy as they translate civic inquiry into classroom-ready plans.
