We are seeking dedicated individuals to serve as peer reviewers for an upcoming special issue of The Good Society: A Journal of Civic Studies, focused on the theme “Dialogue, Deliberation, and Community in Civic Life.” This special issue, aligned with the 2024 Annual Civic Learning Symposium at Ball State, will explore the role of dialogue, deliberation, and community in strengthening democracy and promoting effective civic engagement.
About the Special Issue: The issue invites manuscripts that delve into key civic studies themes, including:
- Encouraging open and respectful dialogue across diverse communities.
- Understanding the role of deliberation in informed decision-making and democratic participation.
- Empowering citizens to become active, engaged participants in democracy.
- Best practices for fostering dialogue, deliberation, and community engagement.
Reviewers will assess manuscripts for originality, scholarly rigor, and relevance to the field of civic studies. Each manuscript will undergo a double-blind peer-review process, ensuring impartiality.
We welcome reviewers from various academic disciplines, including political science, sociology, education, communication, and related fields with an interest in civic engagement, community studies, or democracy. Experience in peer review or a record of relevant publications is beneficial but not required.
