James J. Connolly et al. eds, Vulnerable Communities<\/em> (Cornell, 2022)<\/p>\n

Since 2001,\u00a0<\/span>the Center for Middletown Studies <\/span>has convened\u00a0<\/span>periodic\u00a0<\/span>multidisciplinary conferences devoted to examining the history, present challenges, and future prospects of communities that are neither metropolitan centers nor small towns.<\/span>\u00a0Recent conferences, jointly organized with the Center for Business and Economic Research, the Indiana Communities Institute, and the RUPRI Center for State Policy, have brought\u00a0<\/span>together academics and policymakers to focus on\u00a0<\/span>contemporary challenges\u00a0<\/span>facing small cities and rural communities.\u00a0 <\/span>The Conference has generated a range of publications, detailed below.\u00a0 The most recent is Vulnerable Communities: Research, Policy, and Practice<\/em> (Cornell, 2022).\u00a0 The book can be ordered here<\/a><\/strong>.
