The UNITED program, supported by the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Embassy in Tashkent, is a 21-day exchange program to promote and improve civic understanding and build lasting relationships between college students in the United States and Uzbekistan.
 
Participants will attend hands-on, relevant seminars and workshops about civics, media literacy, technology, government, and more. Then, expert faculty mentors will challenge students to apply classroom knowledge to projects that benefit their communities.
 
UNITED is working to build relationships with U.S. youth organizations to build upon the lessons, ideas and work that emerges during the exchange program. The program will emphasize projects focused on women’s empowerment and strengthening civil society.

All participants who successfully complete the program and follow-up evaluation will earn Certificates of Completion. UNITED will provide certificates from Ball State and the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent. We will hold a closing ceremony at Ball State University to celebrate your accomplishments. 

This in-person exchange will build meaningful relationships between Uzbek and Ball State students that will shape your future educational and professional lives.
