Shaina Miller, a dedicated Ball State sophomore and Whitinger Scholar, has been named to the prestigious 2024 ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll, highlighting her commitment to civic engagement and democratic participation.

Shaina Miller, studying Political Science Pre-Law with a minor in Sustainability and a concentration in Public Administration, has significantly contributed to the electoral engagement of her peers through various leadership roles. At Ball State, she serves as the Honors College Senate Representative, the Collegiate Caucus Chair, and the Student Government Association’s President Pro-Tempore. Her involvement extends beyond governance, as she also participates in the Honors College Peer Mentor Program and holds the position of Vice President in her sorority, Kappa Delta.

Shaina is a 2024 Democracy Fellow with the Center for Economic and Civic Learning at Ball State. In this capacity, She has been actively involved in providing non-partisan voter information to her fellow students, further enhancing her impact on civic engagement on campus. Her role as a Democracy Fellow involves not only disseminating voter education and resources but also organizing events and workshops that aim to increase voter registration and turnout among college students. Shaina’s efforts are instrumental in creating an informed student body that is ready to participate in the democratic process with knowledge and confidence.

In addition to her on-campus activities, Shaina is actively engaged in community service. She volunteers with Girl Scout Troop 32420 and has gained unique experiences as a Wilderness Canoe Guide for the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Her work with these organizations underscores her dedication to fostering community ties and environmental stewardship.

The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge, which oversees the Student Voting Honor Roll, commends students like Shaina who significantly enhance democratic engagement among college students. This recognition follows Shaina’s consistent efforts to ensure her peers are informed, engaged, and motivated to participate in the democratic process.
