Key Info for Indiana Voters
- Registration Deadline — 29 days before the election.
- Your state voter ID number is your ten digit Indiana issued driver’s license number.
- If you do not possess an Indiana driver’s license then provide the last four digits of your social security number.

- Have resided in the precinct at least 30 days before the next election
- Be at least 18 years of age on the day of the next general election

2024 Primary Election
Vote in the upcoming primary election on Tuesday, May 7, 2024! Here’s what you need to know:
Voter Registration Deadline is Tuesday, April 8, 2024. This is the last day for you to register online or in person. You can also complete and submit your voter registration application online until midnight.
Early Voting Opportunity: Starting on Friday, April 12, 2024, you can cast your vote early at the office of the circuit court clerk or satellite office. Take advantage of this opportunity to avoid the Election Day rush!
Absentee Voting: You can vote via absentee ballot beginning on Thursday, April 18, 2024. If you’re from Indiana, learn more about absentee voting.
Deadline for Absentee Ballot Applications: If you prefer to vote by mail make sure the circuit court clerk receives your absentee ballot application by Thursday, April 25, 2024, 11:59 pm. You can submit your application in person, by mail, fax, email, or online through the Indiana Voter Portal at indianavoters.com.
Early Voting Hours: On Saturday, April 27, 2024, and Saturday, May 4, 2024, the office of the circuit court clerk will be open for at least seven hours to permit early voting. However, in counties with a population of less than 20,000, hours may be reduced to a minimum of four hours on these dates.
Election Day: The big day is on Tuesday, May 7, 2024! Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., prevailing local time. Your voice matters—make sure to cast your vote!

2024 General Election
Saturday, September 21, 2024:
Absentee Ballots Mailed: County election boards will start mailing absentee ballots to voters who have already filed an approved application with the circuit court clerk.
Monday, October 7, 2024:
Voter Registration Ends: This is the last day for a voter to apply to register or transfer registration at the voter registration office’s close of business or at midnight for those who want to complete and submit a voter registration application online.
Tuesday, October 8, 2024:
Early Voting Begins: Starting from this day, voters can early vote in the office of the circuit court clerk or satellite office.
Thursday, October 17, 2024:
Absentee Voting Begins: Confined voters, those caring for confined persons at a private residence, or voters with disabilities may start voting by absentee ballot before an absentee voter board at their residence or place of confinement.
Thursday, October 24, 2024:
Deadline for Absentee Ballot Applications: By 11:59 pm, the circuit court clerk must receive absentee ballot applications from applicants requesting delivery of a ballot by mail or from voters with print disabilities requesting to vote by mail, email, or fax. You can submit your application in person, by mail, fax, email, or online through the Indiana Voter Portal at indianavoters.com.
Saturday, October 26, 2024, and Saturday, November 2, 2024:
Early Voting Opportunities: The office of the circuit court clerk must be open for at least seven (7) hours to permit early voting on these dates. However, in counties with a population of less than 20,000, the county election board may reduce hours to a minimum of four (4) hours on these dates. Vote center counties must also have at least one vote center used on Election Day open for early voting, in addition to the office of the circuit court clerk.

General Election Day: Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., prevailing local time. Make your voice heard!
