Contact CAP Dean, David Ferguson for permission.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>CAP students may only use the laser cutter after they have gone through the <span style=\"color: #ba0c2f\"><a style=\"color: #ba0c2f\" href=\"http:\/\/makercorps.org\/laser-cutter\">online training<\/a><\/span> and certification process<\/strong> by either a makercorps student, your studio professor, or other faculty. Certification will be connected to your BSU ID. This training\/certification process is required for use of AT 141 and BSU CAP Indy lasers too.<\/li>\n<li>Certified students are required to schedule appointments to use the lab (see \u2018Scheduling\u2019 below).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Always sign in and out at the check\u2010in desk.<br \/>\n<\/strong>Provide your: First Name, Last Name and Class (ex: ARCH 263, LA 211, etc) and Time of arrival.<\/li>\n<li>Individuals are required to complete a <strong><span style=\"color: #ba0c2f\"><a style=\"color: #ba0c2f\" href=\"https:\/\/bsu-wpe-sites.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2024\/03\/14083000\/CAP-LASER-LAB-lens-responsibility-contract-1.4.2024.pdf\">CAP Laser Lab &#8211; Laser Lens Responsibility Form<\/a><\/span> <\/strong>prior to laser cutting.<\/li>\n<li>Never leave a project unattended while the laser is in operation. <strong>YOU MUST REMAIN IN THE ROOM<\/strong>, ensuring that your project cuts safely. If you leave your project, it will be shut down.<\/li>\n<li>CAP 1st Year Students may not use the lasers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"color: #003366\">Scheduling<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>To make reservations, please go to <span style=\"color: #993366\"><a style=\"color: #993366\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bsu.edu\/-\/media\/www\/departmentalcontent\/cap\/pdfs\/laser-lab-reservation-process-with-webcheck-out.pdf?sc_lang=en&amp;hash=4890B3FDDD3A7C173957A0CCD67594B16F6A311B\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ba0c04\">WebCheckOut \u2013 Patron Portal<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/span>.<br \/>\nAlso found on my.bsu, under \u201cAdditional Tools\u201d. Individuals who have had training, will be granted access to reserve a machine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SIGNING UP<\/strong><br \/>\nStudents are permitted to sign up for 1 hour per day, no less than 30 minutes in advance. If there is no one scheduled on the machine after you, you may stay beyond your scheduled 1 hour appointment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>REMEMBER: training is required prior to use.<\/strong>\u00a0 Training is provided by either the makercorps, your studio professor, or other faculty.<br \/>\nVisit <strong><span style=\"color: #ba0c04\"><a style=\"color: #ba0c04\" href=\"http:\/\/makercorps.org\/laser-cutter\/\">http:\/\/makercorps.org\/laser-cutter\/<\/a><\/span><\/strong> for more information.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"color: #003366\">Available Machines<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>4 machines are available for scheduling: 3 large 18 x 32, 1 medium, 18 x 24, 1 hour per day, per person.<\/li>\n<li>Unreserved time slots will be used on a first\u2010come first\u2010served basis.<\/li>\n<li>It is anticipated that if you schedule an appointment for one of these laser cutters that you will arrive on time for that appointment.
